Ventuz

Ventuz 7 was released on April 11, here a high-level overview on the new version.

Ventuz 7 brings a lot of new workflows, some of them (i.e. Multi-GPU and Multi-Pipe) require additional licensing. Please reach out to our sales team for all licensing-related questions.

As always, you can find very detailed information on all the features of the new release in the constantly updated online user manual or on the Ventuz hompage

Key Advantages:

  • Get more done with less technical effort
  • New options to distribute content on- and offscreen
  • Unrivalled options to bring content to the screen without limitations in resolution, orientation, and pixel pitch
  • Get rid of limitations of proprietary technology (Nvidia Mosaic/ AMD Eyefinity)
  • Reduce invest in hardware
  • Operate more sustainable (less hardware = less power consumption)

Key Features

1. CLUSTER IN A BOX

  • Support for multiple GPUs* in a single workstation, where each physical GPU output can be treated individually as an independent display
  • Several multi-GPU machines can be clustered together to unleash the combined power of all their GPUs

* 2 GPUs possible with Ventuz Enterprise + one of our Option Packs (EXTIO, BC 1,2,x). Up to 4 GPUs possible on request. Please contact our Sales team to obtain more detailed information.

2. MULTIPLE PARALLEL OUTPUTS

  • Output content to any display via various GPU-ports such as DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB-C, in parallel you can
  • Send any rendered content that is not directly output through the GPU as web-streams, SDI/NDI, or other signals, including Shared Textures for Director preview and program

3. MIXED RESOLUTIONS, ORIENTATIONS AND PIXEL PITCHES

  • No need any more to set up displays with the same resolution, orientation, and pixel pitch
  • No workarounds and external image processors needed to achieve a flexible output
  • Freely mix and match different resolutions, orientations, and pixel pitches as required*

* Mixed resolutions might be dependent on the capabilities of your sync-board

4. MULTI-PIPE: OFF- AND ON-SCREEN CHANNELS AT THE SAME TIME

  • Each pipe can load independent graphics scenes and send them to an output
  • Pipe count no longer limited*
  • Benefit from a mixed pipe scenario for on- and off-screen outputs
  • Load one scene to any number of pipes to interact with it from multiple touch devices
  • Output variations of the same scene with different designs or data, or just load individual scenes to each pipe

* Max. parallel pipe count is still set to 4 by standard but can be unlocked with Enterprise Option Packs (EXTIO, BC1,2,x)

5. MULTI OUTPUT: MORE PERFORMANCE THROUGH INSTANCING

  • In a multi-output scenario, the scene will be instanced, meaning it will be loaded only one time.
  • Render a scene and play out over multiple outputs or send via different streams like NDI/SDI
  • Minimal impact on performance
  • Separate content can be added through composition layers

6. MULTI-TOUCH

  • Capture input from multiple touch devices with a single workstation
  • Load individual scenes for each touch device, enabling isolated touch input per screen
  • Load single scenes that can be controlled from multiple touch devices
  • More functionality while lowering the entry barrier

7. MULTI-CAMERA-TRACKING

  • Support for tracking data from more than one camera
  • Output multiple AR/VR graphics from a single workstation
  • Make setups less complicated, save rack space, reduce capital costs

8. MULTI-CANVAS & MULTI-COMPOSITION

  • 3D Pre-Visualization: –

First iteration of a new 3D model mapping and visualization tool for Ventuz Designer
    – Perfectly suited to preview and ensure that content is displayed perfectly on location
    – Import 3D models of a venue and map your graphics to the screen layout
    – Pre-visualization scene can even be experienced in VR
    – Accurate real-world scaling. Utilize real measurements to make precise adjustments

  • Web-based Render Setup & Screen Configuration: –

Allows for import of Previs Scenes and mapping of content to the physical outputs

    – Easily adjust and blend independent content
    – Configurations can now be edited and changed on the fly
    – No need to restart the render engine
    – Maximum flexibility to customize content layout according to project needs*
    – Migrate older setups to Ventuz 7 with ease

* Please still use our stand-alone Configuration Editor for final control of warping and blending. Expanded functionality will be added to the new web-based Configuration Tool in future releases.

9. HARDWARE ACCELERATED MOVIE DECODING (NVIDIA ONLY)

  • Movie decoding in Ventuz now leverages Nvidia NVENC
  • Offloads compute intensive tasks from the CPU to dedicated GPU hardware*
  • Handles resolutions up to 8k60 per GPU, 10-bit color depth, 4:4:4 chroma subsampling
  • As long as the sum of total decoded pixels is less than 8K60 you can mix and match different video combinations without loss in system performance

* Support for MPEG 1/2/4, VC1, H.264, HEVC, VP8/VP9, and AV1 video codecs. Pascal or later GPU generations required for HEVC/VP9 and at least Ampere for AV1
